Combustion method
You can test this method at home by pulling one thread from the fabric. When the silk fabric combusts, you can feel the smell of burning hair, and fiber does not melt. Ashes are black and brittle, and rubbing it between your fingers produces a fine powder. When an artificial fabric flames, it burns very quickly, melts, does not form ashes, and spreads the burning plastic’s smell.
Fabric price
Typically, the price of real silk fabric on the market is about four times higher than a synthetic one because the costs to produce silk are much higher.
Touch method
Silk fabric for bedding, clothing, and costume jewelry usually has a soft texture and shiny surfaces, so you will immediately feel the difference when you touch it.
